"You must be the change you wish to see in the world" Mahatma Gandhi
How many of you have experienced grief, sadness, or anxiety? During that time in your life, did you just wish someone would have a little compassion for you? How many of you are NOT satisfied with the way things are in our world today? Seems like people are more involved in drama, hatred, war, and etc... What would you like to see changed in the world?
Let me say... THAT change begins with us, individually. We need to begin to DO and BE what we wish to see in the world. I propose a few things that could be ~ kind, compassionate toward one another, strong, giving... are you following my train of thought?
There are 3 things that I do daily to "lift" me up to a place of PEACE.
1. Random acts of kindness ~ doing things for other people. Once I was going through the drive-thru at Mc Donald's. I could see the woman behind me counting her change. She ordered, then counted her money. Clearly she didn't have enough, because she had the guy take something off her order. When I got to the window... I told the young man that I wanted to pay for the lady behind me as well...and to please add whatever she took off her order. He gave me a funny look, but did it. When she got to the window... I could see the surprised look on her face. I drove away and never saw her again, YET I felt GOOD and PEACE.
2. Find my JOY everyday ~ I find at least one thing to be joyful about everyday. Some days it seems like I can only find one thing, however some days the list is exhaustive. Then I say, out loud, "I'm thankful for that JOY today".
3. Uplift my soul ~ with music, so I read a sweet story that encourages me, surround myself with positive people and "intakes". I don't watch the news or have negative people/information come into my life.
